The Cenote Route

The Ruta de Los Cenotes (The Cenote Route) is located along the road that connects Puerto Morelos to Leona Vicario. The entrance to the cenote route is in Puerto Morelos on the west side of the Federal Higway 307, where there is a detailed map that shows the location of the Cenotes. This road has a variety of cenotes to choose from. Each one offers a different experience.

Cenotes, also known as sinkholes, are freshwater natural pools that feed from underground streams and rivers under the Yucatan peninsula. On the Cenote Route, visitors will find some Ecotouristic adventure park such as “Selvatica” or “Xenotes”, but also other popular cenotes like “Cenote las Mojarras”, “Cenote siete Bocas”, “Cenote Boca del Puma” and “Cenote Verde Lucero”.

Cenote Las Mojarras

Location: The Cenote Route. 12.2 Km from highway 307

Las Mojarras is an uncovered big cenote where visitors can swim and snorkel.

Cenote Siete Bocas

Location: The Cenote Route. 15 Km from Highway 307

Cenote Siete Bocas is mostly underground with some open pools, its name came from the fact that it has seven different entrances.

Cenote Boca del Puma

Location: The Cenote Route 16 Km from Highway 307

This sinkhole is inside an Adventure Park with the same name.

Cenote Verde Lucero

Location: The Cenote Route 18 Km from Highway 307

Cenote Verde Lucero is an open sinkhole that looks like piece of paradise with a crystal clear and cold water and a lush geenery.
